Their nickname came from the ordinary household tools (pliers, ice picks, hammers, and sledgehammers) they used for unimaginable cruelty inside their customized van, dubbed the “Murder Mac.”
The pair documented their atrocities, including a notorious audio recording of their final victim’s agony that shocked investigators and jurors alike. Norris later cooperated with authorities, receiving life; Bittaker was sentenced to death and died on death row in 2019.
